The particular crystal was designed by Daniel Swarovski, born in Bohemia in 1862. Its composition is in glass and lead (about 30%), but the exact formula is jealously guarded as an industrial secret. The company logo is represented by a swan which is affixed to each product as a sign of authenticity.
